Prophet Penuel T Makes Female Church Members, Women To Strip Naked During Deliverance Prayer

They say ‘there’s no such thing as bad publicity’. The recent media attention on so called ‘prophets’ (‘pastors’, ‘apostles’ sometimes even ‘prophetesses’) has just proved that point accurately. [caption id="attachment_95782" align="alignright" width="600"]Prophet Penuel T Makes Female Church Members, Women To Strip Naked During Deliverance Prayer Prophet Penuel T Makes Female Church Members, Women To Strip Naked During Deliverance Prayer[/caption] I’m always fascinated by these ‘men of God’ who claim to have a speed dial to the Almighty himself. They claim to have healing powers and the ability to convey messages directly from God. The concept of miracle evangelism is not new at all. The movement has been around for decades. It was prevalent in America and Northern Europe in the 70s and 80s. Remember Reverend Reinhard Bonnke? He ended up with depression after being exposed as a fraudster. As usual, in Africa we always play catch up; so now some of our own are cashing in. I’m not a theologian or hope to be someday, but my basic understanding of the fundamentals of Christianity are compassion, obeying God’s commands and most importantly, proclaiming salvation in the afterlife. With these evangelists the message is twisted; it’s all about instant babies, instant wealth, and instant husbands/wives. Their ability to perform so called ‘miracles’ has become the biggest drive; the more complex the miracle, the better. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting that Christians should live a life of poverty. But these guys con people and accumulate extreme worth beyond imagination at the expense of the vulnerable. I vividly remember a few years ago someone telling me that one evangelical church in Chimwankhunda could collect a few million Kwachas per Sunday service, not bad for a few hours work, eh? The question we should ask is: “If Isaiah or Jeremiah (even Jesus) was living in our generation, would they be driving a Bentley in a convoy of flashy cars? Would they be using private jets? Would they living in huge mansions? ” ‘Magic or Psychic Tricks?’ The recent scandals by one prophet are just the tip of the iceberg. Isn’t he the same ‘man of God’ who claimed that APM should contact him to receive a message from God? If he didn’t comply, he would lose the election? When Mutharika refused, he switched his prophesy to JB as the potential winner. After the election, I remember watching a video on social media which he claimed was recorded before the election. In the video, he claimed to have predicted a re –run of the general elections. Obviously this was after JB had just announced this and we all thought there would be a re-run. As it turns out, there was no second election and APM was declared a winner (legitimately or not). The point is, these are nothing but very simple magic/psychic tricks. And then there is this iPad photo revelation , it was priceless. Even more fascinating was the PR effort afterwards; he claimed that the video was tampered with. I’m sure even if this guy was caught on camera with another man’s wife in bed, he would have an excuse. To be honest, I was expecting him to offer to repeat the miracle, instead he opted to perform a ‘walking on air miracle’ in a controlled environment of his choosing, his own house. I have more respect for people like Darren Brown and Harry Houdini who clearly perform great miracles but are quick to point out that they only tricks, they don’t possess super powers. If they really had divine powers why not just go to our hugely under resourced hospitals and perform these healing miracles on masses of people who really need them. The SDA hospital in Blantyre would be the best place to start where one of their social media backers is supposedly critical condition, trying to evade prison! ‘The PR Machinery’ They use high profile names in politics, in the entertainment industry to endorse them on social media; it is an old PR strategy. Followers are easily impressed by the flashy cars, jets and tramped up security. The list of such ‘men of God’ is growing every day. They pounce on the emotionally frail, financially challenged or physically sick; desperate people searching for some sort of miracle answer to their suffering. Ironically, when someone like me stands up to them, their response is always the same; “It’s the devil’s work”, really? ‘Emigration’ One wonders why these guys always move to more affluent areas when they start doing well. If their motive is to spread the word of God, why not move to Mwanza, Neno, Ntchis,i Malomo or some locality in Zambia? Why not use some of that cash to help the poorest of our society? Their preferred destinations are always South Africa, Europe or America. Obviously, these places are comfier and the followers pay more. They live in unimaginable comfort whilst the people who made them rich back home are toiling in poverty. Some people will say I’m just another jealousy hater. On the contrary, I take my hat off to these ‘men of God’ for conning masses in handing over their hard earned money. I think it is an exceptional skill. But I cannot help but feel sympathy for all those poor, childless or sick people who buy ‘anointed soap, water or oil’ just to get relief to their suffering. I know that just by writing this piece I’m doing these guys a favour because it encourages the debate, inevitably raising their profiles even more. Indeed, “there is no such a thing as bad publicity” Bring it on.

Bushiri being interviewd by international media in Mzuzu

I have been following up social media debate on the ‘Man of God’ Major 1 Prophet Sherpard Bushiri for the past weeks. And my simple analysis on most of the views, accusations and attacks against him makes me conclude that Bushiri is just a victim of the usual Malawi evil spirit of jealousy, envy, don’t shine over me, he is just a victim of spiritual and material failure of the enemies of the Body of Christ. [caption id="attachment_95089" align="alignright" width="600"]Bushiri being interviewd by international media in Mzuzu Bushiri being interviewd by international media in Mzuzu[/caption] What is interesting in regard to the accusations is labelling him a fake Prophet for performing few unfavourably miracles according to them. Listen am not trying to verify him whether he is fake or not but what is confusing to me is if we are saying he is fake then show one who is a true Man of God. We can’t just make noise that his miracles are fake, then bring us then genuine one then? But just to label him fake is not convincing to some of us. In Mark 6:1-5 Jesus experienced the same denial even after performing many miracles during his Ministry. The Pharisees always doubted him, asking where did he get all these powers to perform miracles, is he not the carpenters son, son of Mary and brother to James. With all what Jesus was doing still they doubted. And Jesus always reminded them “Prophets are respected everywhere expect in their own home town and by their relatives and their family. “ The anointing of healing, deliverances or miracles is an issue between God and the one he has anointed. I will not question God why He anointed Prophet Bushiri to do wonders or Pastor Elijah Chisiza to heal the sick, why I will not, is because “God is God, Let Him be God” The other question is why we are so noisy about these miracles yet Jesus Christ already said we will do more greater things than Him. In John 14:12 the Scriptures says “I am telling you the truth those who believe in me will do what I do, yes they will do even greater things because I am going to the Father.”If Jesus left us with these powers why is our faith failing us not believe we can do mighty things more than what Jesus did? I will not dispute about GODs miracles because I am the testimony of His healing, His glory, His favor. This year I would have been two years in my grave and in hell. Thank God for His touch upon my life. God should just help our nation to move away from our traditional christianity of kneeling before idols or commit to rules. It is time for massive contemporary christianity of demonstrating Gods power through healing, deliverances and miracles. People have so many problems and challenges, their lives are in a bondage, many people are walking corpses, with thier heads upside down and the only weapon is spiritual connection to Jesus Christ and not our religious rituals. Glory be to God, lets us respect and honour His Servants.A so claimed God fearing nation can do better than this. ‘Major 1’can go deeper even, it’s not a crime !

Malawian Prophet Shepherd Bushiri said he will increase his Sunday services to four to meet attendance demand for his fast growing church Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) after some worshippers were injured when they tried to gain access to a church event at the Tshwane Events Centre at the Pretoria show grounds. [caption id="attachment_95903" align="alignright" width="300"]It appears scores of churchgoers have overpowered security guards when gates were opened.(SABC) It appears scores of churchgoers have overpowered security guards when gates were opened.(SABC)[/caption] [caption id="attachment_95900" align="alignright" width="600"]Churchgoers at Bushiri church in Pretoria Churchgoers at Bushiri church in Pretoria[/caption] [caption id="attachment_95901" align="alignright" width="600"]Hundreds of congregats at Bushiri Hundreds of congregats at Bushiri[/caption] [caption id="attachment_95902" align="alignright" width="600"]Bushiri church filled to capacity Bushiri church filled to capacity[/caption] [caption id="attachment_95899" align="alignright" width="372"]Major 1: Need to open more Church branches Major 1: Need to open more Church branches[/caption] According to South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) hundreds of ECG Church congregants had been queuing outside the premises services since midnight and they overpowered security guards to gain entrance when the gates were opened. Some people fell to the ground with other people falling and trampling over them. An elderly woman, believed to be in her 60’s, was reportedly found with severe pelvic injuries and a man  around his 30’s was found with severe knee injuries and both of them were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Thirteen people were also transported to nearby hospital for injuries ranging from minor to moderate. “There are no critical injuries," Tshwane Emergency Services spokesperson Johan Pieterse told SABC. Pieterse added that all victims were taken by private ambulance to Steve Biko Hospital and Kalafong, saying “the situation is manageable in this moment." Some of the people with minor injuries declined to be transported to hospital and indicated they would go back to the church event and be healed by the ‘Major 1’.. Paramedics from ER24  a private emergency service from as far as Johannesburg were dispatched to the scene to assist, as were the local authorities. South African police are also always around every Sunday for free security services and helped to ensure the victims were well taken care of. Bushiri reacted with special prayers to the injured and said he will increase church services to four on a Sunday to meet the demands as well as opening more  branches in South Africa. “Our church services are characterised by unusual prophecies, healings, and all manner of miracles,” Bushiri says attributing it to God’s grace upon his life. ECG church has grown to 35,000 members in a space of eight months since he relocated there from Mzuzu in Malawi’s northern city. Bushiri also launched a television station, Prophetic Channel which is on Free to Air and viewed by millions worshippers. During live broadcasts, shouts of ‘Major One’ as he is commonly called, break out in the audience as people cry out for the attention of the Man of God. Sometimes, calls of ‘Major One, do something’ or ‘Papa’ ring out as the desperate audience present their various needs to the Prophet. He calls out people by their names, tells them their backgrounds, and gives them solutions to their problems as many shed tears in shock as to how someone who is a stranger to them can know so much about them. Bushiri drew public attention recently when he was shown walking in the air in a video posted on YouTube and also shown to congregants during one of the church services. He has also another ‘miracle’ of ‘spiritual capture of the child on ipad. On Sunday where there was a stampede, a wealthy man who Bushiri claimed was capturing a child related to him, testified saying he was “puzzled” when he saw the kid . He said the child was a daughter of his brother who was critically ill but now is fit and well, The man also said his wife was in bad state of health but has been healed. He further said his business was not doing well but after he now “got salvation” and has been blessed with multimillion contracts from government on his computer business from government.

Bushiri preaching to thousands upon thousands in South Africa

“You can question 1+1, but you cannot question 2 because 2 is the answer.” This is a popular saying familiar to people close to the fastest growing ministry of prophet Shepherd Bushiri, leader and found of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church. [caption id="attachment_88353" align="alignright" width="600"]Bushiri preaching to thousands upon thousands in South Africa Bushiri preaching to thousands upon thousands in South Africa[/caption] After taking social media by storm with what was labelled as “spiritual fraud” when he captured pictures “ in the spirit” using an iPad at one of his highly attended church services, a man to whom he prophesied to in the video came forward to testify of the Bushiri’s “accurate prophecy” that has finally come to pass. It all happened on March 16 when the man from Njabulo Hadebe from Durban. Apart from capturing his and brother’s child in the spirit, Prophet Bushiri had earlier prophesied a breakthrough to finances and just as the word was spoken, Hadebe is now a figure to admire both financially and spiritually. “I wish to thank Prophet Shepherd Bushiri for giving me spiritual direction in my business when he prophesied that I was struggling in my business and he said within few months I would see a breakthrough, right now, I am so happy to testify that my life has moved from glory to glory within the period that the prophet prophesied of,” testified the man captured on Prophetic Channel viewers. “At first I had 40 computers, but now I have managed to acquire 60 more to make it 100. Apart from that, I have also won tenders of millions of Rands from South African government. This is all happening after the prophecy I got and it’s within the time that he prophesied of. Am seeing a big financial breakthrough in my life,” he said. On the iPad video that went viral, the man explained that the pictures that the prophet captured came as a surprise to him and he never took the said pictures in his life. To him, that was a sign he needed to have faith in the prophecy he got. “If you remember, I was a bit reluctant to agree to the prophecy that Major 1 was giving me and that’s what prompted him to capture the photos using an iPad from the congregation. I never had those pictures and no one ever took them. I was so shocked and surprised that I fell on my knees and cried. My faith was challenged and I praise God for giving me such undeniable sign to listen to the voice of the prophet,” he testified, adding: “So even if the prophet had the picture in his iPad, the question are, where and how did he get it?. “The other picture was for my wife and the second one was for my brother’s son who was sick at that time. As I speak now, the son is healed and back to strength. I thank the God for Major 1. When I saw people talking about it, I felt so bad and sorry because they questioned something that shook my faith and challenged me to believe that miracles are real. Today I am testifying of God’s greatness. So in short, we can question what happened, but we can question how I became rich two weeks later after he had prophesied,” he said. Few weeks ago, social media and the whole media worldwide was flooded with the video in which prophet Shepherd Bushiri captured photos in the spirit. ECG church claimed the video which went viral and attracted debate was tempered by some unknown people to discredit the man of God. The ‘capturing in the spirit’ video was then followed by yet another video ‘ walking in the air’ by prophet Shepherd Bushiri, that also made international headlines. The walking in the air video was shot and uploaded on YouTube by News24Zim, a Zimbabwean news platform.

Bushiri telling worshipers on his prophecy on rugby

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has pulling yet another bemusing prophecy in which he prophesied the win of Australia in the Rugby World Cup. [caption id="attachment_96612" align="alignright" width="600"]Bushiri telling worshipers on his prophecy on rugby Bushiri telling worshipers on his prophecy on rugby[/caption] “Can we also help Australia? Can we help Australia? This is where people are trying to move, and am seeing Australia winning,” As he was about to pray to a lady who had come to seek spiritual healing, the ‘Major 1’ paused the healing to continue with his prophecy where he mentioned the loss of Scotland in the Rugby World Cup quarter finals. “As am praying for this one, Scotland is going to go home. Do you know how they play Rugby? Don’t think that Australians are small guys. They know what they are doing,” prophesied Bushiri. Later on, the man of God finished his prophecy by declaring the final score of the Rugby game between Scotland and Australia. “I saw something very funny the time we were worshiping. I saw 34, I saw 35, what is this? I will tell you very soon,” he opened his prophecy before thousands of people that congregated on October 18 at ECG Pretoria during a service that was also broadcasted on his Christian TV Network, Prophetic Channel. As he had prophesied, Australia won the game by 35-34 and Scotland went home. The prophecy was given live during a Sunday service, just few hours before commencement of the game at Twickenham Stadium in England. Prophet Bushiri has of late given a number of international prophecies. Among others, last year he prophesied the death of South African goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa and he also foretold the victory of Zambian President Edgar Lungu and many more prophecies which all came to pass. Prophet Bushiri is a Malawian born prophet who has established himself as one of the fastest rising prophets in the world, ministering in the rainbow nation of South Africa.

Onesimus: Open Letter

South African based Malawian gospel sensation Onesimus Muzik (real name Armstrong Kalua) has announced a surprise release of his single Open Letter via Malawi Music Website. [caption id="attachment_87775" align="alignright" width="500"]Onesimus: Open Letter Onesimus: Open Letter[/caption] Speaking to Nyasa Times, the artist said he decided to drop the single to reach out to his old friends to turn to God. “Am a minister of the gospel. I have ministered to a lot of people over the years since I become born again, but realised I haven’t done enough for my close friends. Now I believe it’s time to preach direct to all my close friends,” explained Onesimus. This comes barely few hours after the artist wrote a long post to his old Nde’feyo signee Piksy, asking him to stop attacking him for being born again. However, Onesimus refuted the claim that the new single is entirely directed at the Unamatamata hit maker. “Am not talking about Piksy as an individual in the song. Am simply putting a message straight to all my friends, he is in the pool of friends and they are a lot, he is not alone. “ I have addressed the issue in mention with Piksy and its time to move on, we can’t dwell on the issue for so long, if they have time, I don’t. My time is for my God and am doing all I can to get my album out, these are simply one of those things,” he said. Of late, Piksy has been on the record attacking Onesimus for openly supporting Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s ministry. According to Piksy, Onesimus is so wrong to follow the Man of God that he should rather give up the things of God and go back to their old style of living.

The Enlightened Christian Gathering Church of Malawi charismatic prophet ‘Major 1’ Shepherd Bushiri has been in the headlines in South Africa on Wednesday after The Sowetan newspaper carried a front-page story that the church was investigated by the country’s CRL commission over reports that its Pretoria based church charges congregants R5 000 (about K200,000).sowetan The Sowetan had a catchy headline on front page lead story titled: “R5,000 to see the Man of God” The story says Bushiri’s church told the CRL commission investigating dodgy pastors and the commercialised selling of religion, that the R5 000 was not really a fee. The money covered each church members ’accommodation, transport and food, according to the church official Mirriam Motsolo. She told the paper that it was just to ensure ‘Papa’ Bushiri found all the “people in one place ”. The church official said Bushiri’s ECG also accepts “prophetic seeding” – which is for the prophet, seeding, tithes, offerings and prophetic channel seeding, for people who want to partner with the free-to-air ministry channel. “Seeding is when you have a special need and what you are trusting God for. [You] plant it and expect to harvest at a later season,” said evangelist Trity Pretorius as quoted by The Sowetan. Motsolo said the prophetic seeding money was not sent to Malawi but was used for Bushiri ’ s travel and accommodation.

Major 1 Prophet Bushiri in his ECG

Malawian famous prophet based in South Africa, ‘Major 1’ Shepherd Bushiri is rebutting a report in The Sowetan newspaper that he charges congregants R5 000 (about K200,00) to have one on one sessions with him. [caption id="attachment_94690" align="alignright" width="600"]Major 1 Prophet Bushiri in his ECG Major 1 Prophet Bushiri in his ECG[/caption] The South African newspaper reported that Bushiri’s church, Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Church is under investigation for charging such amount to its congregation to have sessions with the Malawian prophet and is used to enrich him But the church issued a statement made available to Nyasa Times that rejects the newspaper report as not a true reflection of the truth on the ground, but rather “uninformed and misleading” report. Bushiri’s church said it has grown at an “alarming rate”, attracting thousands of people that come to the Republic of South Africa, every two weeks on the “International Visitors” ticket. “These are the people who agree and confirm to come under the care and supervision of the church. They are required to pay a fee of R5, 000 that caters for their accommodation, meals and transportation, to and from the hotel and church respectively, for the period of 3 days. “The prophet has nothing to do with this arrangement as he is only concerned with preaching the gospel to them and making his anointing work in their lives. All pre-arrangements of the international visitors are done by an independent body chosen by the church,” reads the statement issued by Kelvin Sulugwe, Public Relations Officer for Prophet Shepherd Bushiri Ministries. “History has taught us of unfortunate events that have at times led to the loss of lives of innocent people seeking God's intervention in their lives. Having the mentioned thought in mind, it is part of the church’s policy and safety strategy to put the international visitors together, on one place, a case that helps the church to closely monitor their affairs and also observe punctuality of all the services conducted at ECG within their visitation period. “We urge our friends in the media to refrain from reporting stories with inadequate facts, but rather strive to give well informed and accurate information to avoid misleading the general public.” The Church said its Pretoria branch has a membership of over 30,000 people that come to attend weekly services. “No one has ever been asked to pay a fee to meet the prophet during all our weekly services. International visitors receive special treatment because most of them are people who visit South Africa for the first time and they become a responsibility of the church the moment they come in the country for prayers,” the statement reads. ECG stressed that Prophet Bushiri meets every person, irrespective of their colour, age, gender and nationality. “He is a father that has helped, and continues to help people who come to attend church services without any fee attached.” The church said the Prophet personally urges its members to restrain from engaging in verbal wars with “people who do not believe in his leadership and anointing.” “On November 9, 2015 during the Diplomatic Service, our prophet, Major 1 prophesied of moments like these when he hosted the teaching Life and Battles in which he said: ‘The devil has a way of attacking your time. He brings wrong battles into your life. You spend time fighting your friends, relatives, bosses at work and so many other unnecessary battles and your focus is taken away from fighting the real battles of your life to make you succeed, battles to make you have a stable home, battles to make you get educated and battles to uplift your spiritual life. “In the bible, David heard of Goliath and the reward that awaited anyone who would kill the giant. He went to the battle field and challenged the king to let him fight Goliath. His brothers and other soldiers belittled him and tried to discourage him. The devil was playing with David's time. David had a discerning spirit. He knew his battle was against Goliath and not his brothers hence he let them talk while he prepared for the real battle ahead. Stop fighting battles that have no rewards. Avoid battles that divert you from the important battles of your life and God. Fight for a prize, not pride.” The church said the reports are “simply tactics used by the devil” to take their focus away from the main battle, which is to lead more souls to Christ.

Bushiri: New private plane

South Africa-based Malawian prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) has grown wings and he is flying unstoppably above hate after adding another major purchase on his heavy list of toys. Forget the red Bentley or that black Porsche Panamera , Bushiri is flying higher and higher with his new Aeroplane ZS-VIP. [caption id="attachment_98517" align="alignright" width="600"]Bushiri: New private plane Bushiri: New private plane[/caption] [caption id="attachment_98519" align="alignright" width="600"]Bushiri's church packed with worshippers Bushiri's church packed with worshippers[/caption] [caption id="attachment_98518" align="alignright" width="600"]Congregants at Bushiri's ECG Congregants at Bushiri's ECG[/caption] National Airways Corporation (NAC) a commercial aviation company in South Africa confirmed to Nyasa Times that Bushiri has finalised the purchase of the plane on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Prophet Shepherd Bushiri Ministries public relations officer Kelvin Sulungwe  said the purchase of the Gulfstream plane is a “prophetic growth” for the ‘Papa Major 1.’ “The prophet is a man of example. We thank God for the news at hand and Him alone can prove to the whole world of His greatness. This only serves as a motivation factor to all Christians out there. It’s very real and possible to be a man of God and able to excel in personal life,” explained Sulugwe. This is the second aeroplane that Prophet Bushiri - a man who is now popularly called ‘Major 1’ in Christian circles - has  purchased this year. According to Sulugwe, the Aeroplane will help facilitate the prophet’s travels. “The prophet is a mobile man. He travels a lot across the world preaching the gospel and this new Gulfstream will do him so much good by making his travels easier,” said Sulugwe. He confirmed that the plane – estimated to have cost millions of US Dollars - will be handed to the Prophet within the next 14 days at a public event. Meanwhile, Bushiri’s church has been cleared by South Africa’s Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural‚ Religious and Linguistic Communities, on investigations it has been conduction on churches in that country in an alleged commercialised selling of religion. ECG has been cleared on allegations that it charges congregants 5000 rand (K202,391) for divine sessions with the ‘Major 1’. “ECG-Pretoria has a membership of over 30 000 people that come to attend our weekly services. No one has ever been asked to pay a fee to meet the prophet during all our weekly services,” Sulugwe said. He said following the growth of the church “at an alarming rate,” it continues to attract thousands of people from outside South Africa who, though not obligated, pay to be hosted by the church. According to Sulugwe, Prophet Bushiri has nothing to do with this as he is only concerned with preaching while all prearrangements of the international visitors are done by an independent body chosen by the church, saying “we don’t stress. We relax.”

Talking to Nyasa Times in a brief interview, just days before he boarded his private plane from South Sudan back to South Africa, Prophet Bushiri confirmed taking an interest in South Sudan and revealed some of the projects he has embarked on. “I am truly taking my projects to South Sudan and as I speak, I am investing in agriculture and education sectors,” he said. “The process started long ago and South Sudanese government has been so helpful to make the projects successful,” explained Bushiri. The South African based Malawian preacher said the projects are on their dawn stage and soon a University in Agriculture will open doors. “With the government support, we are building a very big university that will focus towards equipping Sudanese young men with knowledge in Agriculture related activities. I have also been given thousands of hectares to grow maize and sorghum. Plans are there to expand this field if we are successful,” he said. Answering on why a man of God has taken so much interest in investments that are far from the Christian understanding, Bushiri said, just like any other person, men of God should strive to be stable financially and use their financial muscles to reach out to more souls. “In first place, let me clarify to you that being a man of God does not entail you to poverty. That’s a misconception of what the Kingdom of God represents. You are able to see the success of my ministry because it is well supported financially by my own resources and this is part of God’s plan in my life to have seen sources of money that support my own ministry. “There is no trick or whatsoever, but if we need to preach the gospel to all corners then we definitely need to have strong financial muscles,” he said. “The developments that am doing here will also have a great impact on the economy of South Sudan and citizens will greatly enjoy the benefits. I have set up everything in a way that it directly helps the poor, all thanks to the leadership of this country. “ The President and his vice president (South Sudan) really have affairs of the people at heart and they are very respectful to men of God. Even if it means putting all my money in this country, I will do it because I have been received, respected and supported. I have not been fought like the way other insecure leaders do in some of the countries that I expressed my willingness to make investments in areas that help the poor,” explained Bushiri. In his statement to media after a closed door meeting with Prophet Bushiri, vice president of South Sudan James Wani Igga expressed his gratitude to the ‘Major 1’ for eyeing South Sudan and took a step towards making dreams come true for the government. “This can only be described as a blessing in disguise for South Sudan. We greatly support Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and we have witnessed what he is capable of. The University that he is building was actually inspired by our people who requested for it and with the President support we gave the project to people who are capable financially and we found out that Prophet Bushiri was capable and we had the same interest helping the people of South Sudan. “This university will help eradicate illiteracy levels in our country and it means we won’t have to send our children to other countries for further education. The farming fields will also help grow crops that will end hunger in South Sudan. The president is out of words for what Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has done and pledges his full support for further projects that the prophet has planned especially in infrastructure,” he said, joking that “Our country will now have goods on the world market stamped ‘Manufactured in South Sudan’.” Prophet Bushiri is the only African prophet that’s has risen astonishingly within the shortest period of time to become one of the richest men of God on African soil. He is among others a proud owner of gold mines, TV network, mansions, Porsche cars and private planes. He also has shares in different companies within and across Africa. He has so far been accorded VIP status to different countries he has been to for the past years and his influence can be observed each time he hosts spiritual crusades following the large gatherings that attend and how economy of countries is boosted during such events.

Bushiri: The new church will take over 60,000 people at once

Malawian prophet based in South Africa Shepherd Bushiri has made an announcement that his  Enlightened Christian Gathering Church (ECG) will now embark on a project to construct a mega prayer building that will take up 60,000 people in South Africa. [caption id="attachment_99639" align="alignright" width="600"]Bushiri: The new church will take over 60,000 people at once Bushiri: The new church will take over 60,000 people at once[/caption] The announcement was made during a Sunday Service which was live on his television Prophetic Channel. According to Bushiri, the church will be constructed in Midland and among others; it will have a 5 Star Hotel, University and other equally important infrastructures. “Am happy to announce today that plans to construct a big church in Midland have finally been finalised. For now we have started a temporary structure that is costing us up to $4 million and once we are settled at our place, construction for the church will begin,” explained Bushiri to his congregates. ‘Major 1’ as he is proudly called also shown the designs of the yet to be constructed church and hotel. According to the man of God, the church will serve his purpose to accommodate as many people as possible. “This is a dream come true to me because this church will not have Overflows as is the case in this premises that we are. It is a big task to visit all these Overflows every time we have a service and this error is being corrected now. I believe we will join hands and make this dream come true. This is your place of worship and as usual, great things are expected to happen,” said Bushiri amid cheering from his followers. Bushiri’s ministry has expanded alarmingly ever since he relocated to South Africa. He has become one of the most richest and famous prophets within a short period of time. Other great men of God such Prophet Uebert Angel of Zimbabwe have described this humble prophet from Malawi as “Sharpest prophet in the whole world.” His move to South Africa was not received well by fellow Malawians who felt the Prophet abandoned his country at a time when his presence in Malawi would have greatly boosted the economy of the country that keeps dwindling despite regime changes. However, according to Bushiri’s Public Relations Officer Kelvin Sulugwe, the prophet never abandoned Malawi, but only fulfilling his calling purpose. “It is unfortunate to think that Prophet Shepherd Bushiri abandoned Malawi. Truth of the matter is that a prophet is usually a prophet of nations not a nation. He is serving people well in South Africa and this has made it easier for from different countries to visit him. At the same time, his movements are prophetic as told by the God he serves. He has stayed in Tanzania, Zambia and other countries. He was in Malawi all his life time and just few months ago, he had an event in Mzuzu that shook the country.” “As it stands, the prophet is already of great benefit to the economy of Malawi. He has establishments in Malawi and has employed thousands of Malawians. When he became President of AFRICCI, he gave chance to Malawian companies to submit proposals for funding and I believe some of them were successful. All in all, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is a Malawian and he will continue being of benefit to his country, with or without any support from other powers,” concluded Sulugwe.

ECG church 'angels appear'

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri told congregants at this Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) in South Africa to see live the Angels appearing in church during his sermon. Congregants erupted as they appeared seeing “ Angels in white” flying over the attendant crowd in the house of prayers. The service which was aired live on ECG channel, provided another startling sight leaving the crowd in complete awe. The Malawian prophet, the ‘Major 1 Papa’ who has become mega popular in South Africa and other parts of the world over recently performed two miracles – walking in bare air and capturing a remote person with an iPad – both of which stirred controversy and mixed reactions. Coming back to back, the miracles have created a persistent whirl of extraordinary aura                while stamping his heavenly-backed authority. Bushiri: No to gay rights

Renowned prophet Shepherd Bushiri has urged Malawians to reject gay rights in Malawi saying homosexuality is a sinful act. [caption id="attachment_95089" align="alignright" width="600"]Bushiri: No to gay rights Bushiri: No to gay rights[/caption] “I implore Malawians to reject homosexuality and anything that comes with it. There is no such thing as ‘gay rights.’ I thus urge my fellow Malawians to reject gay rights. Homosexuality is a sin,” blurted Prophet Bushiri. Prophet Bushiri made the call on Sunday at his Pretoria Church in South Africa. Bushiri's comments comes hot on wheels after the ongoing heated debate in Malawi on whether gay rights should be legalised or not following the increase of gay activities in the country. The man of God asked Malawians to firmly stand firm against Western cultural influences which he described it as a sin against God and His teachings. "As a spiritual leader, I strongly believe that homosexuality is a sin and it’s forbidden by the spiritual law. It is, however, a pity to hear that it is happening in Malawi. I feel so sorry for my country," said Bushiri. He added:" The Bible made it clear that homosexuality is a sin and it should not be allowed. It is therefore my prayer that Malawians should not welcome such type of development.” Bushiri said homosexuality is not and must never be accepted at any level and Malawians must not embrace such a devilish act adding that it is an ungodly endeavour explaining that those involved in homosexuality needs deliverance because they have evil spirits. "And I speak without fear of any person whether government leaders or donors, I say no to homosexuality because it is against the teachings of the Holy Bible and it is a sin," said Bushiri sounding angry. Same sex marriage remains illegal in Malawi and homosexuals face up to 14 years jail term. Catholic Bishop for Karonga Diocese Dr. Martin Mtumbuka last week speaking in Karonga to the catholic faithful in the district described homosexuality as a sin and condemned gays and lesbians as ‘horrible sinners.’ Bishop Montfort Sitima of Mangochi diocese said Sunday in church in his homily that many Malawians reject homosexuality only that they do not speak out. "The government should not sell out our culture and our religion in exchange for money," said Sitima, indirectly attacking the government for bowing in to pressure by powerful donors of US, United Kingdom and Germany to suspend all gay laws in Malawi. Malawi’s renowned music icon and Member of parliament for Balaka North, Lucius Banda on Christmas eve stopped performing on stage after two men were reportedly kissing publicly in full view of music lovers and imbibers at the popular waterhole Zitherepano in the Lakeshore district of Mangochi. Malawi suspended enforcement of anti-gay laws, among them Sections 137(a), 153, 154 and 156 of the Penal Code pending a High Court review of their constitutionality, but the process is yet to be concluded. The country is also a signatory to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights which guarantees the right to privacy and the right to non-discrimination of all people.

Major 1 Bushiri : Wants : Wants garnishee order to Indebank, Nedbank accounts

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) has dragged a Lilongwe based businessman Timothy Phiri to court for his failure to pay him back a debt amounting to K130 million. [caption id="attachment_95090" align="alignright" width="600"]Major 1 Bushiri : Wants : Wants garnishee order to Indebank, Nedbank accounts Major 1 Bushiri : Wants : Wants garnishee order to Indebank, Nedbank accounts[/caption] According to the writ of court summons which Nyasa Times has seen, Bushiri has given Phiri 14 days after the service of the summons to acknowledge whether he intend to contest in court. First defendant is Timothy Phiri, second defendant is Inde Bank Limited, and third defendant is Ned Bank Limited. Affidavits which Nyasa Times has seen indicate that Bushiri gave Phiri K130 million debt in August in agreement whereby the businesmsan was supposed to pay back the whole amount. According to the affidavits, Phiri is abusing and misusing the funds and is unwilling and refusing to pay back the money. Phiri operates current account with Inde Bank. He also operates another current account with Nedbank, Mzuzu branch. It is alleged that Phiri has acquired different vehicles using the man of God's money. Some of the vehicles include; Truck Registration number MJ 6863, Toyota Fortuner DZ 9009, VW Golf Registration number DZ 4960, Toyota Prado Registration number DZ 5201, Nissan Note Registration number DZ 2218, Nissan Note, unregistered, and Will Cyph Registration number DZ 3540. Bushiri is being represented by  Jivason and Company. When agents of Bushiri have been requesting Phiri to pay back, he has always been saying: "I did not get any money for my business from any person, I do not owe any person any money," Bushiri is therefore asking the court to provide a mandatory order compelling the banks to release the money in the said bank accounts to court to be forwarded to him plus costs of the action.

FNB stadium filled to capacity during Bushiri's New Year's cross over service

Leader and founder of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church Prophet Shepherd Bushiri keeps stretching his popularity graph upwards in the rainbow nation of South Africa . [caption id="attachment_100701" align="alignright" width="600"]FNB stadium filled to capacity during Bushiri's New Year's cross over service FNB stadium filled to capacity during Bushiri's New Year's cross over service[/caption] The Malawian born, South Africa - based man of God made history when he filled the largest football stadium in Africa, FNB Stadium with capacity of 94,736 during his annual spiritual gathering of Crossover, a day that was this year dubbed ‘Lion of Judah Night.’ The event was attended by thousands of people who came from different countries within Africa and beyond. The event was also live on his channel –  Prophetic Channel. “I am so glad that people came in large numbers to worship God on the wonderful day we had at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. It was glorious and powerful,” said Bushiri to Nyasa Times journalist who attended the event. Highlights The event lived to its billing and involved a lot of music talents including Patience Namadingo, Onesimus Muzik and James Owen Nee just to mention but a few. However, it was until Bushiri’s entry into the stadium that the congregation was sent into uncontrollable cheering and jeering, apparently celebrating their man of God who is popularly known as ‘Major 1”. The event run through the night and a lot of miracles which Bushiri performed left many in mystification. The lame walked, the blind saw, the deaf had their ears open and others came forward to testify of unexplained amounts of money filling their banks accounts. Economic booster Being an international event that attracted thousands upon thousands from different countries, the cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria were on a business booster. A quick run round by this reporter identified that most of the big hotels in the two cities were fully booked for a good period of one week with people who came to attend the event. On the main day, Metre Taxi drivers, Minibuses and car rentals also had their fair share of the event. The FNB Stadium was a destination for so many of their customers. According to reports, apart from world cup matches, the FNB Stadium was last fully filled by another prolific man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy Ministries. However, observers have argued that the Bushiri’s event will go down in annals of history as the night that saw the soccer city filled to a chocking capacity.

The unveiling ceremony of the new jet ZS-VIP was presented by a biggest Company of Aviation NAC in South Africa on Wednesday 6th January, 2015 . During the ceremony, Bushiri  received a certificate for becoming the youngest buyer of Gulf Stream jet Bushiri dedicated the new jet to all the people who follow him and understand his vision. Speaking to Nyasa Times via phone, Bushiri could not hide his excitement and explained that his recent decision to buy the Jet simply represent the vision he has. “Am a man of God  I believe I need to leave by example. I teach the word that strengthens the faith of ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,’ and thats exactly what am doing now. I am what God says I am and not how other people judge me. "I believe to inspire a lot of Christians out there more especially fellow men of God. We can do it because greater is he who lives in us,” said Bushiri. This comes after the man of God recently made another inerasable history when he filled the largest stadium in Africa, the FNB satdium in South Africa during 2015-2016 Crossover dubbed as the 'Lion of Judah Night'. Bushiri has of late become one of the richest pastors in Africa and certainely the richest person in Malawi, a country of his origin. He is popularly referred to as the “Major 1” of 'Papa' in Christian cycles especially among his followers. Few weeks ago, Nyasa Times also carried a story, revealing that the man of God plans to launch a bank and a mobile company in South Africa, news that was confirmed to be true by the Prophet’s Public Relations Officer Mr Kelvin Sulugwe. "I am what God says I am. I was born a winner. This goes to people who understands my vision. This is not for me but to those who believe in better things" Bushiri said.

Prophetic family: Bushiris on their new jet and now in Malawi for charity

Self confessed Malawi billionaire prophet, Shepherd Bushiri jetted into the country on Thursday afternoon and immediately parried away allegations he is milking his own ministry, saying to the contrary, he is the sponsor of the church. [caption id="attachment_100985" align="alignright" width="600"]Prophetic family: Bushiris on their new jet and now in Malawi for charity Prophetic family: Bushiris on their new jet and now in Malawi for charity[/caption] Bushiri came through Kamuzu international airport and triumphantly walked out his private jet with a thunderous welcome from his followers. "If the government cannot afford a presidential jet, do you think a church can afford? I have a string of businesses," said Bushiri, a young, headline hitting, charismatic prophet. The Man of God who is fondly called ‘Major 1’ by his followers said he has over 30 mineral mines in Africa, 27 of them gold mines, he has oil wells, a university in South Sudan and property in Dubai and will soon open an international bank and mobile service company. The ‘Major 1’ said he had brought with him a K35 million cash chest to help Malawians affected by floods in seven districts last year. He said apart from the charity work, he will embark on evangelism. Bushiri attracted attention after arriving on his latest private plane reportedly a Gulf Stream III jet, which costs $37m (£25m).

Bushiri carrying relief maize

Malawi top musician-cum-legislature Lucius Banda has hailed famous Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of Enlightened Christian Gathering Church(ECG) based in South Africa for coming forward to support the less privileged in the country. [caption id="attachment_101386" align="alignright" width="600"]Prophet Bushiri on charity Prophet Bushiri on charity[/caption] [caption id="attachment_101388" align="alignright" width="600"]Bushiri carrying relief maize Bushiri carrying relief maize[/caption] The ‘Major 1’ self-styled billionaire Man of God has been involved in a number of charity works in support of the 2015 flood victims in Malawi on his visit since last week. According to Bushiri over  US$ 150,000 has been spent on his charity initiative, and K40 million (about $58 456) was used for Ntcheu. He has also been to Dowa. Bushiri said his prophetic tour in Malawi has been busy doing “what faith entails- Humanity works.” Lucius Banda took to Facebook to commend Prophet Bushiri for his charity works, saying many people in the country need support. “I am a staunch catholic; there are a number of things we differ on, in principle and belief. We are like rail we cannot meet though we go the same direction. I have seen crowds of people it didn’t move me. I saw convoys and parades of police band it was nothing to me. I have heard about miracle money I said wow! Good for them. But what makes me write this is I have seen Prophet Shepherd Bushiri giving money to the needy giving food to the hungry.. That is my religion!!!” wrote Banda on his Facebook timeline. Social commentator Stanley Onjezani Kenani also posted on his Facebook timeline to commend Bushiri. "Well done, Prophet Bushiri, for helping those in need. This is what Christ teaches us," he wrote. Bushiri’s visit to Malawi follows a recent interview with Nyasa Times where he was questioned on what his ministry is doing as far as issues of social responsibility are concerned in his home country. In his reaction, the ‘Major 1’ Bushiri said he has always helped the poor and this year alone more than 30 students have graduated from various universities under the scholarship scheme of Prophet Bushiri. He  however claimed that he is not does not feel comfortable in publicising the help he lenders to the less privileged. While in Malawi, Bushiri presented a cash gift to the chiefs of Sub T.A Zolokele in Rumphi district of Malawi for an undergoing construction of a school project. The man of God further said he is embarking on plans to construct a major conference Hall in Capital Lilongwe which will be called Shepherd Bushiri Conference Center. Bushiri, who plans to open a bank and a mobile company, also took time to visit one of his farms in the northern region of Malawi in Rumphi where he encouraged Malawians to invest in agriculture. "I have always encouraged people to invest in agriculture. God wants us to work hard. The bible says faith without works is dead,” said Bushiri. Meanwhile, rapper Piksy (Lawrence Zangazanga) remains opposed to Bushiri, saying he is not attracted his “miracle money”. Piksy recently clashed with gospel artist Onesimus who converted from secular music to be a follower of Prophet Bushiri who also preaches of miracle money. He described Piksy as a lost son. But Onesimus hit back in his single“letter” asking Piksy to repent. Onesimus has also recorded a song touting “miracle money” . Another Malawian celebrated hip-hop star Gwamba announced that he will no longer sing secular songs because this time he will use his talent to preach the word of God. He made announcement after attending Bushiri’s New Year ‘cross over’ sermon at the giant FNB Stadium in South Africa. Pisky insists he is not happy with Bushiri and his Enlightened Christian Gathering promoting the church followers to hit at the rapper as a “hater” who is in denial to repent for his sinful lifestyle.

Major 1 Bushiri : I have worked hard for my billions, no cashgate

Billionaire Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has ruled out making major investments in Malawi saying there is fear of uncertainty. [caption id="attachment_95090" align="alignright" width="600"]Major 1 Bushiri : I have worked hard for my billions, no cashgate Major 1 Bushiri : I have worked hard for my billions, no cashgate[/caption] He could not directly say political or economic uncertainty but  pointed out that Malawi was simply not a right destination for his investments. "It has to do with the insurance of your property. We heard of how a hotel belonging to a man of God was attacked in Lilongwe, how a mob vandalised a church in Area 25 in Lilongwe after falsely accusing him of turning into a snake," he said in an interview with private station Zodiak on Friday. However, he could not say how much he is now worthy but conceded he has a string of investments in South Africa where he has mineral mines and wants to have what he described as the biggest privately owned university and a bank. Bushiri has a university in South Sudan, wells of oil and property in Dubai. The ‘Major 1’ as he is fondly called by his followers, Bushiri said he started off in a humble way, buying a gold mine at US$3000 and selling it off at US$2 million, buying more mines in Tanzania and South Africa and reselling them at huge profits, saying currently he remains with seven mines. Miracle money Asked about miracle money concept and philosophy, Bushiri said this is in the Bible as Jesus sent Peter to catch fish, telling him the first fish he caught had money in its mouth. He therefore said he will continue preaching about finances and investments to help uplift people's lives apart from the usual tradition preaching of salvation. The ‘Majoir 1’ however said it was sad some people peddle lies about him and his wealth saying this would never deter him from achieving his goal and mission in life. "Lies go faster than the truths. It is sad that lies have gone faster," he said, adding he works hard to earn his money. He said he is based in South Africa because the country is a one flight country, saying he can connect to another country without having to wait for long and the country is technologically advanced good for his investments. Bushiri has been in Malawi on charity, donating relief food to hundreds who face starvation. He has spend almost US$150,000 in his charity drive, receiving commendation from many of his critics, saying his actions have been “Godly”.
